Day Habilitation Without Walls

Metropolitan Family Service, inc has put in place protocols to assure that everyone we serve and each staff that we employ is safe and is practicing all the CDC guidelines, to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Below are the protocols that is in place for our Day Habilitation without walls.

Mandatory Screening: 

  • All Direct Support Professional will be screened and must pass the mandatory screening
    prior to starting their day. DSP must answer COVID-19 questionnaire and daily temperature
    checks. Utilizing a touchless thermometer; DSP must have a temperature under 100.4. After
    the DSP passes the screening, they can begin their day. This data will be recorded in
    the logbook.
  • DSP will screen the individual prior to entering the van by asking caregiver or advocate
    COVID-19 questionnaire and use the touchless temperature check their temperature prior to
    entering the van. All individuals’ hands will be sanitized (if medically permitted) prior to
    entering the can. This data will be recorded in the logbook.

Agency Van Protocol: 

  • Agency vans are occupied at 50% capacity to maintain social distancing.
  • Prior to van entry both individual and staff must have passed the mandatory daily
    screening.
  • All individuals must wear a mask.
  • All seats, door handles and high touched surface areas are sanitized on the daily bases.

Participation in Day Habilitation without walls (Day Hub): 

  • Group sizes is limited to 3 individuals receiving services at a time; in addition to staff and
    other essential employees in the team.
  • If an individual is presenting COVID-19 symptoms while participating in services; the
    individual will be sent home as soon as possible. Day Program will request a clearance prior
    to in person engagement. Individual will be offered telehealth services during this time.
  • Social Distancing (maintaining six feet apart) is being practiced when possible; unless an
    individual’s treatment plan requires close contact support.
  • Individuals must always wear a mask or face shields unless it is medically prohibited. If
    individual needs a mask MFS will provide it.
